Where in the World is Caleb?

Where do I even begin...

It is so unusual to be home in Easley, South Carolina. I have been back in my hometown since May of this summer following graduation from Carson-Newman University. I have not been home this long since before my college experience began. However, at the same time, it has blown by incredibly fast.

At the start of June, I was brought on as a public relations intern at RingoFire Digital Media Marketing Agency. I was extremely eager to begin working as it was my first time getting to truly put what I majored in school to good use. Since deciding to become a Communications Major, I have been so intrigued by the world of social media marketing, public relations, and learning how to engage with an audience and tell the stories of brands. Working at Ringo, I have learned so much in the field of digital marketing, account management, social copywriting, public relations, television writing, and blogging as well. Along with the internship came meeting and working with incredible innovators, genius marketing and advertising strategists, and all-around fun and inspiring coworkers.

My team makes coming into work each day that much more delightful.

With my life having been dedicated to swimming for so long, there was no way I could completely take swimming out of my system. I returned back to my senior year club team, Team Greenville, and began an assistant coaching position. I began passing down all that I had learned over the course of eight years to teens and children who are as passionate about the sport as I am. It has always been incredibly fulfilling to coach, as I had done for JCSC in Jefferson City for about two years. Returning to Team Greenville however, has made my whole career come full circle.

Because I have been home for so long, I have missed my college friends in ways I could not imagine. I was with the same people for four years, so moving back home made me realize how valuable they all are to me. I have gotten to go back to Tennessee, where my heart truly belongs, and see some of the best people in my life a few times. We have all moved on from college, but I hope everyone is happy with where they are and I wish nothing but the best for my friends.

Being back in Easley has given me the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, and I now know just how much I have missed them. It's like I rejoined a community of inside jokes, nostalgia, and tons of stories I have gotten to catch up on. I have also gotten to spend the summer with someone who has made me so especially happy and I am so thankful that person was brought back into my life.

During times like these, it has been very stressful to see precisely what the future may hold. I am fortunate enough to live with a family who has supported me and has made sure that I am alright. I hope to be writing more and keeping you all up to date on this mysterious yet exciting new life, post-grad.
